Kat Timmins & Ryan Schebek
With a lot of colour and a little bit of whimsy, this couple had a touching and completely unique wedding day.
Favourite moment: For Ryan, it was the first look and seeing Kat in her dress. For Kat, it was the extra personal ceremony and the speeches. “I now live 4,000 miles away from my family. They don’t really know our friends and didn’t have a true understanding of the special friendships I had made since being in Vancouver. So having our friends stand up and say the most wonderful things about us and our relationship was truly touching. Both sets of parents looked very proud!”
Weather woes: Rain put a damper on the wedding, but florist to the rescue! “Our florist made a makeshift arch as we were supposed to get married under the garden arbour,” says Kat. “Her arch was so beautiful. I think it worked out for the best.”
Tacos anyone? The meal was provided by a pink food truck, which just happened to complement the décor perfectly!
Planning advice: Kat says, “Everyone has an opinion when it comes to weddings; focus on what you want and don’t forget why you’re getting married in the first place.”
